Mother’s Day is on May 8th

Mother’s Day Takes Many Forms

Whether it is our mom, step-mom, grandma, daughter, a friend and even our committed dog and cat moms, there can be a lot to celebrate on Mother’s Day.

My favorite Mother’s Day memory was many years ago when my young daughters served me breakfast in bed. Knowing me well, they chose to make me a breakfast of my favorite things: hot chocolate with whipped cream, chocolate covered chocolate (not kidding), and a s’more. I didn’t think to take a picture of it at the time, but I wish I had. And though I do looove chocolate, I actually dislike sweets in the morning. But of course, I had to partake in the breakfast that was made specifically for me with so much care.

Each of us may have a different vision for ways to celebrate and those ideas can sometimes differ year to year. A few ways that people celebrate:

  • go out with a group of friends
  • celebrate with their families
  • retreat to their garden
  • go on a hike with family or pets
  • watch their kids play sports (or play sports with their kids!)

We saw a USA Today survey from a few years ago that had a few specific items top their Mother’s Day wish list:

  • 2-hours more sleep
  • More space/time to themselves
  • The chance to do absolutely nothing

Regardless of how you choose to spend it, we wish you a happy day!
