Green Beans and Cherry Tomato Recipe

Green Beans are a delicious summer veggie that are so easy to prepare. If you have some extra cherry tomatoes on hand, this simple but tasty recipe is the way to go!


  • 1 lb green beans, trimmed and cut into 2″ pieces
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped


  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, place the green beans and cover with water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low and cover. Let simmer for 10 minutes and then drain and set aside.
  • Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the sugar, salt, pepper and garlic powder and mix well. Add the chopped cherry tomatoes and stir until they’re soft. Add the green beans back to the pan and stir until everything is mixed well. Garnish with the basil and enjoy!
