Founder Duane Slyder on Virginia Talk Radio Network’s “Morning Jam”

Eating locally, seasonally, and sustainably has gained national attention in recent years spurred by books, articles and studies. Also, the supply chain issues that left many grocery shelves empty during the pandemic (and since) has brought these conversations to the forefront.

Seasonal Roots Founder, Duane Slyder was recently a guest on Virginia Talk Radio Network’s “Morning Jam” to talk about the concept of eating locally and seasonally with hosts Janet Rose and Mark Lamb. Duane explained how Seasonal Roots helps connect local farmers and food artisans with the local community to ensure the freshest tasing foods in Virginia and parts of Maryland.

Seasonal Roots supports local farms and artisans throughout the state and the foods are more nutritious, fresher, better tasting and are seasonal, so people can eat what’s fresh in their area all year long. Because foods don’t travel cross country to get here, they spend more time in the ground ripening, are truly fresh when they arrive, and save fuel by reducing the distance traveled. The wide variety of menu items available include fruits, veggies, dairy (egg/butter/cheeses), meat and seafood, dips and spreads, coffee, and much more.
